Plan your itinerary

Prepare a list of must-do’s and must-see’s, but don’t worry about when you will get to them. When you arrive, check the weather, wind, and wave forecasts and decide where to go next. This will assure that you have pleasant sailing and a relaxing vacation.

The freedom that comes with chartering a private yacht is best way to experience Dalmatian coast. You can sail to which ever port you want and cruise from one island to another, but if you are more of a 'good preparation is everything' type of person, many online sites will help you to plan your itinerary in advance. Seven days, which is usually time for sailing in Croatia, is not always enough to see everything we were planning to, so perhaps above phrase is something you want to stick to.

Of course, if you are booking a yacht with crew on board, they are the best local guides you can have with you on board.

Sailing with a skipper is definitely the easiest way to cruise from place to place while still taking advantage of the freedom you have.

Popular stops include chic bars and restaurants of Hvar Town and small towns such as Milna on Brač, known for its laid-back charm (usual first or last stop when sailing from / to marina Kaštela).

You can still find plenty of seclusion, too. The village of Stomorska on sleepy Šolta has moorings for just fifteen visiting boats, while a night in Palmižana harbour allows you to explore car-free Sveti Klement, one of the forested Pakleni Islands.

The farthest flung island from shore is unspoiled Vis,a home to the magnificent Blue Cave, great food and lots of opportunity for an adventure. Closer to the coast further south are Korčula’s sandy bays and verdant Mljet, with its beautiful National Park.

High sailing season in Croatia (July, August, early September) has beautiful warm and sunny weather, but for some it can be quiet busy. Nevertheless, if you are not afraid of little crowds, snorkelling, paddle-boarding and swimming, or just simply splashing around in the shallows, are chief among the joys of exploring the Adriatic Sea.

But preseason, which already starts in April and ends beginning of November could be even bigger experience. No crowds, weather suprisingly warm and pleasant, prices are lower and for true sailors who are more in favour of windy sailing, there is plenty of breeze and wind to enjoy your choosen boat.

Get that adrenaline going!

To reach a port, we must set sail
Sail, not tie at anchor
Sail, not drift

Can you call yourself a true sailor if you've never participated in regatta? You should definitely try.
There are plenty regattas in Croatia; some of them are for racing, some of them are more for gatherings and having fun, but all of them guarantee a great time.

Our favorite one is Vis Regatta. It's a great way to close the summer and sailing season.
